India reiterates no blockade from Indian side in Nepal

India has said efforts are being made to send maximum supplies to Nepal. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup reiterated that there is no blockade from Indian side in the Himalayan nation. Mr Swarup said, four to six hundred commercial cargo vehicles are moving daily to Nepal. The spokesperson said, problem in Nepal is political in nature and has to have a political solution.<br/><br/>Replying to a query over the situation in Maldives where emergency has been imposed, Mr Swarup said, India is closely monitoring the situation and every development in that country. <br/>On the visit of Vice President of China Li Yuanchao, Mr Swarup said, he will arrive in Delhi tonight. The visiting dignitary will hold discussion with his Indian counterpart Mohd. Hamid Ansari tomorrow. Thereafter, India and China will sign MoUs in the field of water resources and culture. Mr Li Yuanchao will also call on the Prime Minister and the President. <br/> <br/>Mr. Li Yuanchao will meet the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata this evening. Both the sides are expected to discuss enhancing bilateral trade and commerce and some agreements are likely to be signed.
