India reiterates its commitment to success of peace process in Nepal

India today said the momentum for early finalization and promulgation of the Constitution in Nepal must be maintained and reiterated its commitment to the success of the peace process in the Himalayan country.<br/><br/>Chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (M) who is New Delhi on a six day visit, called on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan.<br/><br/>During the meeting which was held on Friday, Mr. Mukherjee said India looks forward to the institutionalization of democracy in Nepal in a constitutional and multi-party framework.<br/><br/>He said Nepal's political stability and economic progress is in India's interest and expressed hope that the historic task of writing an inclusive, democratic Constitution will be completed at the earliest.<br/><br/>On the occasion, Mr. Prachanda conveyed heart felt gratitude on behalf of the people and political parties of Nepal for the assistance rendered by India in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.<br/><br/>Mr. Prachanda also had a meeting with Prime Minister during which Narendra Modi promised full support to quake-hit Nepal in reconstruction efforts.
