India is committed to sharing its experience in UN peacekeeping activities with all those who wish to contribute to this cause. <br/><br/>Speaking at 2nd United Nations Peacekeeping Course for African Partners in New Delhi, Secretary (West) Ruchi Ghanashyam said, New Delhi believes that there is a greater need for consultations between the Security Council and Troop contributing countries. <br/><br/>She said, India has repeatedly pointed out that the present focus on the core functions of Peacekeeping which include de escalation of conflict and protection of civilians, must not detract the important task of finding a lasting political settlement to the conflict. <br/><br/>The Secretary said, UN peacekeeping missions have to confront more complex security situations that could provide a political settlement to lasting peace.
