New Delhi says India stands ready to support the Egyptian people and nation during the transition period. It welcomed the choice by the people of Egypt and noted that remarkable changes were being achieved through peaceful means. In a statment in Cairo, the Minister of State for External Affairs Mr. E. Ahmed said that the two countries have played a pioneering role in championing the cause of developing world and the non aligned countries. During his stay in Cairo Mr. Ahmed will call on Egyptian Prime Minister, his deputy and other ministers. He will also call on grand Sheikh of Al Azhar and other dignitaries.
