India's MC Mary Kom defeated Alice Appari of the Philippines 8-1 in the 48 kg category to reach the finals of the sixth Women's World Boxing Championships in Barbados. Mary Kom remains firmly on course for a historic fifth successive gold.Among other Indians, Kavita will face Kateryna Kuzhel of Ukraine in the semi-finals of the 81 kg category today. The current edition of the World Championship features 72 countries.
