Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has topped the list in India Rankings 2017 in engineering category, followed by IIT Bombay and Kharagpur. Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar released the India Rankings of higher educational institutions in New Delhi today. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad bagged the first rank in management category while Miranda House, Delhi was ranked the top college.<br/><br/>Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was chosen as the top institute in the Overall Rankings. It was also ranked the first in the top Universities category, followed by JNU. Jamia Hamdard, Delhi bagged the first rank among the Pharmacy institutes. A total of 3,300 institutes participated in the rankings.<br/>AIR correspondent reports Hindu and St Stephens colleges of Delhi did not participate in the competition. The parameters for rankings were teaching, learning and resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcoimes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Perception. The first such report was released last year.
