Indian Institute of Science, IISc Bangalore has been ranked number one educational institution in India by Human Resources Development Ministry. Seven Indian Institutes of Technology, IITs have also made it to the list of the top ten educational institutions released under the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar announced the results of India Rankings 2017 in New Delhi this afternoon. IISc figured at the top in 'Overall' and 'Universities' categories.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Javadekar said that the institutions which have fared well in the annual national rankings announced by his Ministry will be provided with more funding, enhanced autonomy and other benefits. He said that policy regarding the same will be announced soon to encourage the spirit of competition and ultimately enhance the quality of education being imparted by the institutions across the country.<br/> <br/>IIT Madras has topped the list in engineering category, followed by IIT Bombay and Kharagpur. IIM Ahmedabad bagged the first rank in management category while Miranda House, Delhi was ranked the top college. Jamia Hamdard, Delhi bagged the first rank among the Pharmacy institutes. Our correspondent reports a total of 3,300 institutes participated in the rankings. <br/><br/>The parameters for rankings were teaching, learning and resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcoimes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Perception. Hindu and St Stephens colleges of Delhi did not participate in the competition. <br/><br/>
