India provides US $ 1 million aid to Myanmar for earthquake relief

India has provided an assistance of 1 million US dollars to Myanmar for earthquake relief. An official release says that this follows the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's recent message to the Chairman, State Peace and Development Council of Myanmar, Senior General Than Shwe and assurance that India will provide any assistance to Government of Myanmar. Accordingly, India announced one million US dollar assistance for relief and rehabilitation in the affected areas. Earthquake hit the northern part of Myanmar on 24th of this month.
