India has provided grant assistance of 3.59 crore rupees to Nepal for construction of two separate school buildings in Mustang district. Ambassador of India Shri Rakesh Sood who is on a visit to District Mustang, on Friday handed over the newly constructed buildings of Shree Jana Adarsh Secondary School, Kobang and Shree Jana Shanti Secondary School, Kagbeni.<br/> According to a press statement of Indian Embassy, Kathmandu, India provided 2.99 crore rupees for the construction of Shree Jana Adarsha Secondary School at Kobang village, established in 1952 and 60.19 lakh rupees for the construction of the library building and provision of furniture, computers and books of Shree Jana Shanti Secondary School, located in Kagbeni. The new school infrastructure will cater to the educational needs of both these schools which are among the oldest in the area.<br/> These development projects have been undertaken in response to local needs and in partnership with the Government of Nepal under India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme. The programme has an outlay over 2560 crore rupees with the more than 350 large and small projects currently being implemented in all districts of Nepal in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development. These buildings stand as a symbol of the deep friendship that characterizes the relationship between India and Nepal.
