The Indian boxing team today filed a protest against the International Boxing Association's decision overturning Boxer Vikas Krishan's win against American Errol Spence in the 69 kg category. Vikas was ousted from the Games after International Boxing Association's review of the bout that he had won overturning the result of the match. The 20-year-old had won 13-11 over Errol Spence in a thrilling contest last night but following an appeal by his rival's team management, the association awarded the bout 15-13 to the American citing the fouls committed by the Indian which were not noticed by the referee.In Athletics, India's Sudha Singh crashed out of the London Olympics after failing to qualify for the final of the women's 3000m steeplechase event. She finished13th out of 15 runners, who ran in the first heat.In Rowing,India's campaign came to a dismal end with the duo of Sandeep Kumar and Manjeet Singh finishing second last in the Men's Double sculls event.In the Events coming up, Ace Badminton star Saina Nehwal takes on World Number Two Xin Wang of China in the Women's Singles in the play-off for the Bronze Medal in a short while from now.Another contest to watch out for is in Boxing, where Pugilist L. Devendro Singh is all set to take on Serdamba Purevdorj of Mongolia in the Light Flyweight category for an entry into the quarter-finals.The United States now hold the top spot in the medals tally with a haul of 21 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze. China are standing second with 20 Gold, 14 Silver and 9 Bronze and Great Britain are in the third position with 10 Gold, 7 Silver and 8 bronze medals.
