New Delhi described the situation in Pakistan very serious and did not rule out the possibility of its spillover effect in India. The Defence Minister Mr.A K Antony told reporters in the capital that India's defence forces are prepared to meet any challenge and expressed confidence that any threat, including that from Taliban, will be neutralized. Terming terrorism as a menace, Mr. Antony urged every one to act seriously and sincerely to deal with it effectively.<br/><br/>On the ongoing 'Operation Raksha' by the Navy and the Coast Guard, the Defence Minister said New Delhi has learnt a lot of lessons from Mumbai Terror attacks and now there is a coordinated effort for coastal security. Mr. Anotny asserted that Indian Navy and Coastguard are taking serious steps in this direction and the government is providing all out support to strengthen them. Replying to a query on China, Mr. Antony said India will not compromise on its national interest and will protect the territory at all costs. He however made it clear that New Delhi will continue our efforts for extending relations with all our neighbors. At Another function the Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor did not rule out the possibility of spillover effect of developments in Pakistan. He however added that Indian security forces will give a befitting reply to Taliban whenever they try to carry out destructive activities in the country.
