The Defence Minister Mr. A K Antony today assured the nation that India is fully prepared for any eventuality. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the two-day IAF Commanders' Conference in New Delhi today, he asserted that the armed forces are prepared for any challenge to the integrity of the country. Mr Antony expressed happiness that things are much better now and India is in much more strong position as compared to the past.
The Defence Minister dismissed reports about shortage of ammunition in the army as rumours.The minister, however, maintained that there will always be some shortcomings and that is also being taken care of.
On the IAF conference, the Defence Minister exuded confidence on the air assault preparedness. He said, some
new platforms have already started coming and more will come
in the near future. He also expressed happiness over the fact that the Air Force had concluded 317 capital acquisition contracts worth over 1.11 lakh crore rupees in
the last five years.
