India Post, SASB sign agreement for yatris registration through select post offices

For the benefit of yatris planning to perform pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Amarnath this year, India Post and Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, SASB, have signed an agreement for registration of yatris through select post offices. An official release said, the SASB has allotted a quota of 10 yatris per post office for each day of yatra on each route.

102 post offices across eight States including Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have been identified for the purpose. An application form, compulsory health certificate and yatra permit forms have been made available at the post offices. The yatris may walk into any of these post offices and get themselves registered by paying twenty rupees as registration fees and fulfilling required formalities. The list of post offices is available on the India Post website www.indiapost.gov.in.
