India Post inks MoU with Thomas Cook for foreign exchange, travel related services

India Post on Tuesday signed an MoU with Thomas Cook, a private company, to provide foreign exchange and travel related services through the post offices across the country. The MoU will ensure the avaibility of two strong brands to the customers, specially tourists. It will provide them with a legitimate source of undertaking foreign exchange and travel related transactions.Initially, the service will be available in Delhi and later it will be extended to the other locations having Indian posts offices.Launching the service, Minister for Communications and IT A. Raja described the tie-up as a path breaking initiative. Mr. Raja said with Commonwealth games being hosted in Delhi in October this year, this tie up will cater to the needs of floating population in a befitting manner.Secretary post Ms. Radhika Doraiswamy and senior executives of Thomas cook were present on the occasion.
