India play out 2-2 draw against Australia in first hockey Test

Indian men's hockey team played out a 2-2 draw against Australia in the first hockey test of the three-match series in Chhattisgarh last evening. World cup winners, Australia drew first blood through a field goal in the 9th minute from Dylan Wootherspoon. VR Raghunath converted a penalty corner leveling the score 1-1 in the 28th minute. Another goal from VR Raghunath through a penalty corner in the 43rd minute gave India the possible lead but it was short lived. A penalty corner in 58th minute through Chris Ciriello spoiled India's chances of registering an important win scores with final scores leveled at 2-2. India now plays Australia in the second match on Sunday. This series is in preparation for Hockey World League Finals that will be held in Raipur from 27th of this month.
