The ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan has said, India will send astronauts to space by 2016. Talking to reporters in Bangalore today, he said, a pre project report is getting ready for it. It is planned to send two Indian astronauts to the lower earth orbit for a period of seven days. <br/><br/>Four years are required to develop the ‘Module’ that will carry the astronauts to an orbit around earth and bring them back after a period of seven days, Radhakrishnan said. Speaking about Chandrayaan II mission, the Chairman of ISRO noted that some of the experiments carried out during Chandrayaan I mission will be repeated . <br/><br/>As part of Chandrayaan II, unmanned Rover will land on moon surface and collect samples. ISRO chief said the mission is likely to be accomplished by 2013. The Mars mission will be a joint effort of different countries and likely to be taken up in 2030, he noted.
