India-Pakistan permanent Indus Water Commission talks underway

India-Pakistan permanent Indus Water Commission talks are now under progress in New Delhi. The indian delegation at the talks is led by the Indus Commissioner G Aranganathan and the Pakistani side by his counterpart Jammat Ali Shah. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that the delegations of the two countries will also exchange flood data and annual reports and talk about future programmes and plan any visits that may be required to project sites on either side. The discussions on water sharing issues will conclude on Wednesday.<br/> <br/>India on Sunday strongly denied the Pakistani charges that it is being deprived of its share of the common waters. Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the statements issued by Pakistani authorities are aimed at diverting the attention of their people from Islamabad's inefficient use of the vital resource. He asserted that New Delhi has never deprived Pakistan of its share of water and had no intention to do so in future. <br/>
