Altogether 280 kilometres of the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat has been completed. The balance of 168 kilometre stretch is to be covered by technological means as the site conditions are not conducive for fencing because of water logging. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju stated this in the Lok Sabha today. In reply to a question, he said no case of infiltration has been reported along the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat in the last three years. He informed the House that the Centre has sanctioned a pilot project of deploying technological solutions in various terrains starting with Jammu.
