India and Pakistan began a three-day DG-level border dialogue in New Delhi yesterday and decided to devise new strategies along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir to put an end to incidents of ceasefire violations. <br/><br/>Sources said, the most significant takeaway of the talks has been that the two sides agreed that maintenance of peace and tranquility on this border is the most important issue and this needs to be implemented on the ground. <br/><br/>Sources also said, the Indian side suggested that rather than debating and contesting about the past incidents, the two sides should work on a future strategy to make the border peaceful and safe for the troops and civilians alike. <br/><br/>In a press release yesterday, BSF said, the talks progressed in a most congenial and positive environment. Major General Umar Farooq Burki, Director General, Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) is leading a 16 member Pakistani delegation. <br/><br/>The 23 member Indian delegation is led by DG BSF D K Pathak. Both the delegations also have representatives from respective home and foreign ministries along with officers from narcotics control and survey department.
