India and Pakistan have agreed on the need for a constructive dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues. Briefing media after the talks between the Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir in Thimphu on Sunday night, External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Vishnu Prakash said the two sides also affirmed the need to carry forward the dialogue process. The two Foreign Secretaries will brief their respective governments on their discussions. No details about the specific issues discussed were given. Later sources said that the Indian side told Pakistan that it is open to discuss all issues to take the process forward. This is the first time the two Foreign Secretaries met after they held discussions in Islamabad in July last year.
