India and Pakistan have reaffirmed their resolve to make serious, sustained and result oriented efforts for seeking an amicable resolution of Siachen.
In a joint statement issued at the end of the two-day Defence Secretary level talks in Rawalpindi yesterday, it was agreed to continue dialogue on Siachen in keeping with the desire of the leaders of both countries for an early resolution of all outstanding issues. This was disclosed by Pakistan's Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi.
The Indian Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma also express satisfaction over the talks.
It was agreed that the next round of talks on Siachen will be held in New Delhi on mutually convenient dates, to be fixed through diplomatic channels.
