India Pakistan Parliamentary forum is being revived to promote peace and friendship between the two countries. A decision to this effect has been taken by the speaker Ms Miera Kumar and her Pakistani counter part Ms Fahmida Mirza who met at the sidelines of the 20th conference of commonwealth speakers and presiding officers in New Delhi. Talking to reporters Ms Miera Kumar said that the details for reconstituting the forum are being worked out . AIR correspondent adds that the speakers of the two countries will be meeting again later tonight to finalize the names of the members of Parliament for the forum.The forum was earlier headed by noted Ghanaian Ms Nirmala Deshpande.Addressing the conference, the speaker of Pakistan Assembly pushed for resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue. She advocated the need for diplomacy to help overcome rigid governmental positions. Earlier talking to reporters, she identified terrorism and poverty as main challenges facing South Asia. She advocated deep introspection to explore reasons behind the proliferation of terrorism, extremism and intolerance.
