India ,Pak commerce talks from Thursday

Two day bilateral meeting between the Commerce Secretaries of India and Pakistan would see signing of three agreements for normalizing trade relations between both the neighbouring countries besides discussing wide range of issues. The meeting is starting from Thursday.

Commerce Secretary, S.R. Rao said this before crossing over to Pakistan from Attari-Wagah land route, today. He is leading an 11-member delegation for talks with his counterpart Munir Qureshi. The talks would mainly focus on normalizing and boosting bilateral trade to create prosperity for the people of both the countries.

AIR Correspondent reports that Rao said these three agreements would include custom coordination, grievances redressal on custom process and on standards. He said that removal of non-tariff barrier (NTB) is also part of the discussion.

He said India is expecting an expansion in the list of tradeable goods to Pakistan through Attari-Wagah land route. India has set up an Integrated Check Post (ICP) at the Attari Wagah land route to enhance bilateral trade.
