India's Sameer Verma has entered the Men's Singles quarterfinals in the Yonex India Open Super Series badminton tournament. At the Siri Fort Stadium in New Delhi today, Sameer defeated Hu Yun of Hong Kong in straight games 21-17, 21-15. However former champion Kidambi Srikanth, Sourabh Verma and B Sai Praneeth made their exit from the Men's Singles after losing in their second round matches. In the Women's Singles event, the pre-quarterfinal match between sixth seeded Saina Nehwal and Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong is now in progress.Third seed P V Sindu's pre-quarterfinal fixture against Saena Kawakami of Japan is also slated for today.
