India offers to share its experience in renewable energy production with other countries

India has offered to share its experience in renewable energy production with other countries, particularly the developing one. Addressing the inaugural of Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil asserted that India needs an international environment supportive of its endeavour for sustainable development. She called upon the international community to collectively extend support to the efforts of developing countries through financial resources and technology transfer. Urging the international community to provide technological upgradation and research for cost effectiveness, she said existing climate friendly technologies have to be disseminated at affordable cost. Patil emphasised that energy security is a predominant objective of India as it is a growing economy and its requirements for energy are increasing everyday. She added that the country is mindful of it and has done a lot of things to obtain clean and green energy.Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Farooq Abdullah said that the whole world community needs to work together for clean energy.Nine hundred delegates and six hundred exhibitors from 53 countries are participating in the Renewable Energy Expo that begins tomorrow at Greater NOIDA. Several bilateral agreements are likely to be finalised.
