<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today, paid homage to the martyrs of 1971 war, on the occasion of 50th Vijay Diwas.<br />'' <br />'' He laid a floral wreath at the Balidan Stambh War Memorial in Jammu to mark the occasion and said that the unmatched gallantry of our brave hearts will continue to inspire generations to come. The LG paid tributes to the brave soldiers, officers of the Army, Navy, and Air force, who exhibited amazing valor and sacrifice in the 1971 war.  <br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, in Manipur, State level observance was held in Imphal with the presence of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, cabinet ministers, MLAs, state civil and police officers.<br />'' <br />'' Addressing the function, Shri Biren said that every citizen of the country should contribute and support making a strong and united India. He said that any external threat can be warded off if the country is united.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The Chief Minister also recalled the courage and valour of thousands of soldiers who defeated Pakistan in the 1971 War.
