India and Nepal will sign Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement tomorrow at Kathmandu.
The Agreement will be signed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and his Nepalese counterpart Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’.
According to an official release, the Agreement will replace an earlier one between the two countries signed in 1987.
During his visit tomorrow, the two Finance Ministers will exchange views on further development of bilateral relations.
They will review the progress on implementation of the action plan agreed upon during the last visit of the Prime Minister of Nepal to India in October this year.
Mukherjee will also meet with the President and Prime Minister of Nepal.
Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai has arrived in Kathmandu for talks with Chief Secretary of Nepal Madhav Ghimire and others.
On arrival in Kathmandu, he said that India has an abiding interest in the peace, stability and prosperity of Nepal.
This motivates New Delhi’s wish to expand the cooperation between the two nations.
