The 11th meeting of India-Nepal Joint Committee on Inundation and Flood Management (JCIFM) concluded at Kathmandu today. <br/><br/>The committee discussed various issues including ongoing works and release of funds, flood forecasting and flood inundation on Mahali Sagar on Bairganiya Ring Bund, Rato, Lakhandehi and Meechi rivers. <br/><br/>The JCIFM also discussed mechanism for proper coordination at field level and draft Terms of Reference for concurrent evaluation of ongoing inundation and flood management projects. <br/><br/>During six-day meeting which began at Janakpur on April 16, committee members also visited sites at Kamala, Baghmati and Lal Bakaya rivers. <br/><br/>The Indian team was led by A.K. Sinha, Member (Planning), Ganga Flood Control Commission. The next meeting of the JCIFM is likely to be held in November this year.
