India needs substantial increase in defence allocation: Antony

Defence Minister A K Antony says, India needs substantial increase in defence allocation for modernisation of forces. Addressing media persons after inaugurating the seventh edition of International Land and Naval Defence Systems Exhibition- Defexpo-12 in New Delhi Mr. Antony said India is located in sensitive security surroundings and its neighbors are modernizing their defence forces in a fast pace. He said that the government has zero tolerance for corruption. He said, if malpractice is found at any stage in procurement process, the government will not hesitate to cancel it. Mr. Antony said all three service chiefs enjoy government's confidence. Regarding the leakage of Army Chief's letter he said it is anti-national and it only helps enemies. He promised that the strongest action under laws will be taken after going into the root of the leak.
