India needs international support on climate change : Saran

India today said that there are deliberate attempts to downgrade international expectations from the Copenhagen summit on climate change. Calling for an equitable and fair agreement, the Prime Minister's Special Envoy Mr. Shyam Saran said, a supportive climate change regime will help India which is a developing economy. Speaking at India Economic Summit in New Delhi today, Mr. Saran said that if India has to do more on global warming, then it needs international support. He said, the debate has been intertwined with very real fears for the economic prospects of the developing countries.
