The Union Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that India needs one trillion dollars for promoting infrastructure projects during the 12th Plan.Mr Mukherjee said this while meeting the President of Asian Development Bank, Haruhiko Kuroda in New Delhi. He said that half of the investment is expected to come from the private sector. Acknowledging the role of ADB in substantive funding of infrastruture projects, Mr Mukherjee said that India has been a prime borrower of this bank for last 25 years and the first borrowing was made in the year 1986.The Finance Minister said that to mark the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of relationships, it would be willing partner with ADB in promoting and developing regional and sub-regional cooperation in this region. He said that the country will also host ADB Regional Meeting in 2013.
