India need heroic efforts to save Sydney test

In the second cricket test at Sydney, India were 114 for 2 in the second innings against Australia, at stumps on Day 3. Opener Gautam Gambhir on 68 and Sachin Tendulkar on 8 were at the crease. The touring Indian side still trail by 354 runs in the second innings.Earlier today, the Aussies resumed their first innings on the overnight 484 for 4, with Skipper Michael Clarke on 251 and Michael Hussey on 55, at the crease. Indian bowlers, who were made to toil hard yesterday, did not have much respite today either, as they failed to make a breakthrough. The hosts Australia declared their first innings at a mammoth 659 for 4 in the post-lunch session, with Aussie Skipper Michael Clarke remaining not out on 329 and Michael Hussey on an unbeaten 150.It was a nervy start for MS Dhoni's Team India in the second innings, as they lost big-hitter Virender Sehwag on 8 in the third over. Gambhir and Rahul Dravid tried to keep the scoreboard ticking for India with an 82-run partnership for the second wicket, but Dravid was bowled on 29 off Pacer Ben Hilfenhaus.India, who are 1-0 down in the 4-match series, had made 191 in the first innings, after opting to bat first.
