Hosts Australia today set a victory target of 270 runs for India in a tri-series one day international match at Adelaide. After opting to bat winning the toss, Australia got off to a calamitous start, losing Ricky Ponting in the 4th over and David Warner in the 9th. Skipper Michael Clarke resisted with a battling 38, before failing to answer a cleverly bowled slower delivery from Pacer Umesh Yadav. But it was the 98-run 4th wicket stand of debutant Peter Forrest and David Hussey, that paved the way for a competitive total. Hussey made 72, while Forrest scored 66. The lower middle order, led by Daniel Christian, quickfired some runs at the end, helping Australia compile a total of 269 for the loss of 8 wickets. For the touring Indian side, Umesh Yadav and Vinay Kumar bagged two wickets each.
