India named an 18-member squad for the Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament to be held in Dhaka from September 24 to 30. While defender Nilam Sanjeep Xess has been named the captain, Hardik Singh, also a defender, will be his deputy. Pankaj Kumar Rajak and Tanuj Gulia are the two goalkeepers in the squad. While Manipur's Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem will man the midfield, Ibungo Singh Konjengbam will be the notable player in the forewardline.
