<br/>India and Myanmar are gearing up for a well-coordinated operation to flush out extremists from the jungles of the Northeast region. The operation was finalised after the Union Home secretary, Mr. Gopal Krishna Pillai visited Yangon on 18th of this month.<br/><br/> A I R Silchar correspondent quoting official sources reports, camps of various extremist groups, including the United National Liberation Front, People’s Liberation Army, NSCN (Khaplang) and NSCN (Issac-Muivah) are based in Myanmar. The locations of these camps and maps had been provided during the Union Home Secretary’s meeting with Myanmar’s deputy home minister Brig. Gen. Phone Swe. Myanmar has assured Mr. Pillai that any camp working against Indian interests would be targeted. It has also agreed to share intelligence regarding cross- border movement of extremists. The sources said, India would provide information about the presence of rebel camps and their locations from time to time.
