India must improve macro-economic parameters to post 9% growth: Prez

President Pranab Mukherjee has said that India needs to improve macro-economic parameters like inflation, fiscal balance and current account deficit to achieve 9 per cent growth rate. Addressing an All India Management Association-AIMA- function in New Delhi, he said the immediate challenge before the country is to reverse the deceleration in growth. Mr Mukherjee said, the decline in growth is due to factors like tight monetary policy aimed at containing inflation, lack of adequate procedural flexibility for projects and reduction in export demand due to global slowdown.
