India has made clear its opposition to China on issuance of stapled visas to Kashmiris and developmental work in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, PoK. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao told reporters in Beijing that New Delhi maintains that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and there should be no discrimination between residents of the state and rest of the country. She said, India's concerns over China undertaking development projects in PoK was also raised during External Affairs Minister S M Krishna's talks with Chinese leadership. Ms Rao, who briefed media on the talks Mr Krishna had with the Chinese leaders, said, New Delhi underlined the need for more sensitivity to be shown to Indian concerns in this regard.<br/><br/>India and China signed an agreement to set up a hotline between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao to enable them to hold direct conversations.<br/><br/>Mr Krishna, who wrapped up his four-day visit, called on Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao and raised the issue of China supporting India's candidature for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the US has welcomed the improvement in bilateral relations between India and China saying it values dialogue between the two giant Asian nations.
