India loses to Argentina in Hockey Champions Trophy

In the ongoing Hockey Champions Trophy at Bhubaneswar, India suffered their second defeat in as many matches last night. In a Pool B fixture, India lost to Argentina 4-2. The first goal for India came in last minute of the second quarter from Danish Mujtaba but the score was levelled by Argentina's Lucas Vila a few seconds later to 1-1. The hosts took the lead again by Gurjinder Singh's penalty corner in the 37th minute. Though India's joy was once again short lived as Juan Lopez scored for Argentina in the same minute. The score was 2-2 at the end of third quarter. However in fourth quarter Argentina dominated play. Two more goals were netted by the Argentines which India failed to equalise or surge ahead. Earlier the hosts lost to Germany 0-1 in their opening fixture on Saturday. Today is a rest day in the Champions Trophy. India will take on The Netherlands tomorrow.
