India lose to Malaysia in Azlan Shah Cup

Hosts Malaysia defeated India 3-2 in their league encounter of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament At Ipoh this evening. Both the teams were level 1-1 till half time and tied 2-2 till the time Malaysia struck to snatch the match from India. Rupinder Paul scored both the goals for India. Earlier, the match started late due to rain. India will play against Canada tomorrow. India drew with Korea in their first encounter while lost the second tie to New Zealand. Meanwhile, current champions Australia and New Zealand both won their league matches. Australia beat Korea 5-1 while New Zealand defeated Canada 5-0. Both the winners have garnered 9 points each from three matches. Korea have four while Canada are blank till now.
