Australia defeated India by 4 runs in first one day International Cricket match of seven match series at Badodara today. Chasing the victory target of 293 runs, India made 288 for 8 in 50 overs. Gautam Gambhir was the highest scorer with 68 while Harbhajan Singh made 49, Praveen Kumar 40 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni 34. For Australia Mitchell Johnson and Shane Watson took two wicket each while Brett Lee, Peter Siddle, Adam Voges and Nathan Hauritz claimed one each.Earlier, Australia made 292 runs, losing eight wickets in the stipulated fifty overs. The Aussy Captain Ricky Ponting was the highest scorer with 74 runs, followed by not out batsman Hussey who made 73. For India, Ishant Sharma claimed three wickets for 50 runs while Ashish Nehra took two.Mike Hussey was declared man of the match.Next match of the series will be played at Nagpur on Wednesday
