Czech Republic has defeated India 3-1 in Davis Cup World Group playoff as Yuki Bhambri lost 3-6, 5-7, 2-6 to Jiri Vesely in a must win match in Delhi today. Yuki Bhambri had to win his reverse singles match if India were to stay alive in the race for the 16-nation World Group. Bhambri's defeat has made the fifth rubber between Somdev Devvarman against Lukas Rosol inconsequent.Earlier, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna suffered a rare doubles defeat in the Davis Cup as Radek Stepanek and Adam Pavlasek gave Czech Republic a 2-1 lead over India in the World Group play-off tie yesterday.
