India has lost the opening Test match by 63 runs to Sri Lanka at Galle today. Chasing a target of 176 in the fourth innings, India were all out for just 112 runs. The visitors had begun their day needing 153 runs with 9 wickets in hand with two full days remaining. Spin duo of hosts, T Kaushal and R Herath dismantled Indian batting order and shared the 10 wicket among themselves. Left arm spinner Herath took the major share as he took 7 for 48 in the second innings to destroy the Indian batting order.
