India has lost the opening Test match by 63 runs to Sri Lanka at Galle today.Chasing a target of 176 in the fourth innings, India were all out for just 112 runs. The visitors had begun their day needing 153 runs with 9 wickets in hand with two full days remaining. Spin duo of hosts, T Kaushal and R Herath dismantled Indian batting order and shared the 10 wicket among themselves. Left arm spinner Herath took the major share as he took 7 for 48 in the second innings to destroy the Indian batting order.Some resistance was provided by late batting order as Ajinkya Rahane hung in but was caught at the score of 36, highest by Indian batsman in the second innings. On Friday, in the second innings, Sri Lanka made 367 on the back of Dinesh Chandimal's 162 not out.Earlier, India had made 375 runs in reply to Sri Lanka's 183.This is a three match Test series and Sri Lanka leads it by 1-0.
