India looks forward to the finalization of nuclear deal with South Korea. Talking to newspersons on board the special aircraft on her way to Korean capital Seoul today, the President Mrs. Pratibha Devi singh Patil said that she will be discussing the matter with the Korean leadership. In reply to a query, she said that other important issues including combating terrorism and defence will also be discussed. Mrs. Patil is on a week long visit to Korea and Mongolia beginning this morning.Deliberating on the purpose of her visit to the East Asian countries, Mrs. Patil said, accelerating the momentum of relations with South Korea and Mongolia is the objective of her visit to these countries. She said, the entire gamut of bilateral, regional and global issues will be discussed with the leadership of these two countries.Elaborating on the economic relations between India and South Korea she said, the result of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries which became effective from January last year, has been encouraging. She said, the two way trade rose by about forty per cent last year and is growing equally fast this year.The visit of Mrs. Patil, the first by a president of India in 23 years, aims at signaling the importance India attaches to the bilateral relationship with that country. She stressed that India is committed to assisting Mongolia in capacity building and human resource development.The Korean Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr. Min Dong -seok received Mrs. Patil at the Seoul Air Base on her arrival this evening. She was given a 21 gun salute at the ceremonial reception.
