In Hockey, defending champions India will look to assert their continental supremacy once again when they take on Japan in the semi-final of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament in Muscat on Saturday.
Japan is the reigning champion of the tournament. The match will begin at 10.40 p.m.
Indian time. Having spanked Japan 9-0 in the round-robin stage, India will start as overwhelming favourites.
India are the only side in the tournament that remained unbeaten in the round-robin stage, except for a close goal-less draw against old nemesis Malaysia.
Pakistan will lock horns with Malaysia in the other semi-final of the day.
India tops the table with 13 points from five games followed by arch-rivals Pakistan with 10 points. Malaysia is third while Japan are fourth with seven points.
The tournament final will be played on Sunday.
