India has formally lodged a protest with Pakistan on the dangerous manoevours of PNS Babur jeopardising the safety of INS Godavari in the sea. INS Godavari is escorting an Egyptian vessel releaesed by Somali pirates. An official release said that the Naval Adviser of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi was summoned yesterday to the Ministry of Defence and serious concern on this incident was conveyed. New Delhi said that it was also against the relevant regulations on navigational safety. The statement also said that the acts of Pakistan naval vessel were in violation of bilateral agreement signed in 1991. India has also refuted allegations that its war ship obstructed the Pakistan naval ship. Our correspondent reports that the Egyptian vessel MV Suez, hijacked by Somali pirates, was released on Monday after nearly 10 months. Its 22 crew members included 6 Indians, 11 Egyptians, 4 Pakistanis and one Sri Lankan.
