The visiting Indian Naval Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma along with the Indian High Commissioner Mr Ashok K Kantha today called on the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, at the Ministry of Defence in Colombo. The two sides held discussions to promote bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries while, enhancing security in the Indian Ocean region. Admiral Verma is on a five day official visit to the island nation, first by an Indian top military brass since defeat of the LTTE terrorist outfit. Exchanges of plaques were also made between the officials marking the occasion. The Indian Naval Chief was accompanied by Sri Lankan Naval Chief Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Commander Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Damayantha Dharmasiriwardena.<br/>
