India and Sri Lanka have agreed to cooperate to resolve all matters related to delays in customs clearances and an Agreement will be signed between the two countries on Customs cooperation very soon. At a brief media interaction in Colombo on Saturday evening Union Commerce, Industries and Textiles Minister Anand Sharma said that the issue of delay in customs clearances came up in the meeting with the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris on Friday. He said that both countries are engaged in negotiations to simplify the visa regime.Sharma, who was in Colombo on a four day official visit, met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa over lunch on Friday and discussed bilateral ties.
