India is keen to sign trade agreements with Australia and European Union. Commerce Secretary in Government of India Rita Teaotia told this to reporters in Hyderabad during an interaction with them at the Indian School of Business today. Stating that India and Australia are serious over signing the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, she said several rounds of talks have been held. She said India expects a balanced agreement while there is further progress on services sectors. With EU, she said the GVK issue is nothing to do with the negotiations on trade agreement. It may be recalled EU imposed ban on certain GVK pharma products off late. On exports, she said despite a considerable dip in exports, trade deficit is showing downward trend with the reducing crude oil prices in the international market.
