India had Kazakhstan today signed three agreements and four more will be signed later in the day . Kazakhstan has agreed to supply 2100 tons of uranium to India by 2014 for civil nuclear energy. The agreements were signed after the delegation level talks between the Prime Minister and the Kazakh President at Astana today. The first agreement is on mutual civil assistance in civil matters and the second between ONGC Videsh and Kazakh National oil company for joint oil exploration in the Caspian sea . The third is on a joint action plan for strengthening strategic partnership. .. The agreements in the areas of peaceful uses of Nuclear energy envisaging a legal frame work for mutual beneficial cooperation , agriculture, health and on dealing with the cybercrime will be signed later in the day after the Dr. Manmohan Singh holds talks with his Kazakh Counterpart later in the day. Speaking to media after the summit talks the Prime Minister said that the two sides underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation in the energy sector. The Prime minister said that the two sides need to enhance interaction in the implementation of prospective projects in the exploration of new oil and gas fields, refining and petro chemicals.In a joint statement issued after the talks says that the two countries called for intensifying partnership in the transportation of Hydro carbons and establishment of science based industries. .Kazakh President in his remarks said that they agreed to cooperate in the area of space research and urged the space research organizations of the two countries to work to achieve the desired objective.Dr. Manmohan Singh is wrapping up his five day two nation tour and leaving back home later this evening. He participated in the BRICS Summit and held bilateral talks with the Presidents of China, Russia , South Africa and Brazil on important bilateral and international issues of mutual concern.
